The Academy to screen Technicolor restoration of first-ever Best Picture winner 'Wings'

William A. Wellman’s “Wings,” which won the first Oscar for Best Picture in 1929, has been fully restored and is ready for its close-up again. The Academy will screen the film with live music accompaniment next month as part of Paramount Pictures’ 100th anniversary.
