Posted by · 11:09 am · June 15th, 2012

Today comes news of further casting on Quentin Tarantino’s western romp, as Jonah Hill has joined the ensemble. Apparently Hill was in the mix for a larger role in the film at one point in time, but couldn’t commit due to scheduling. It seems they’ve found room for him after all.

Tech Support: Dolby Atmos ready for its close-up with the premiere of Pixar's 'Brave'

Posted by · 7:07 pm · June 13th, 2012

Next week Walt Disney Pictures will be premiering “Brave” in conjunction with the Los Angeles Film Festival at the newly named Dolby Theatre (formerly the Kodak) in Hollywood. Tech Support: 'Django,' 'Amazing Spider-Man' production designer J. Michael Riva has passed

Posted by · 7:24 pm · June 7th, 2012

Your heart has to melt for Quentin Tarantino. The guy is nothing if not protective and supportive of his crews, many key members loyal to him over the years. Back in 2010, he was dealt a blow when long-time editor Sally Menke tragically died amid hot summer heats while hiking in Runyon Canyon, and today, the production designer of his hotly anticipated western “Django Unchained,” J. Michael Riva, has reportedly died at the age of 63, according to Variety.

One of those films is Quentin Tarantino’s hotly anticipated “Django Unchained,” which gets a nice, shiny trailer today on the heels of some footage that debuted at the Cannes Film Festival last month.

Posted by · 10:36 am · June 1st, 2012

Michael Mann hasn’t been in the director’s seat since 2009’s “Public Enemies,” save for his involvement in HBO’s short-lived series “Luck.” He’s a guy with a stack of potential projects lined up, but it seems he’ll take a little bit of a break from the fray to head up the jury of the 69th annual Venice Film Festival later this year.

Leonardo DiCaprio teams with Baz Luhrmann again in the lush trailer for 'The Great Gatsby'

Posted by · 4:14 pm · May 22nd, 2012

I have a feeling the freshly debuted trailer for Baz Luhrmann’s “The Great Gatsby” is going to draw a line in the sand. On one side, those a bit stricken by the apparent tone and visual direction the “Moulin Rouge!” director has taken the F. Scott Fitzgerald story. On the other, those who feel the material is getting a unique and vivid spin that could be good for it.
