While I would love an Adams win, in the stage play, at least, that character is mostly there to be a catalyst for the Streep character. She's easily the weakest-written of the four characters. I'm sure you know this already and have read a script I'm not privy to, and it certainly SEEMS like Adams' time, but I still have trouble seeing it, y'know?

My only problem with calling Benjamin Button in the top two categories is the fact that it has flop written all over it. As much as I love Fincher, it stuns me that he was able to get away with a $150 million budget for an adaptation of an F. Scott Fitzgerald novel. I don't think this really has much of a chance at the box office, and AMPAS doesn't usually reward flops.

Don't know about Wall-E winning Original Song. Didn't even know it had one. Best Animated feature sounds dead-on.

Ughh...I just tried reading the Soloist screenplay last weekend and couldn't even get through it. I liked Joe Wrights last two films, but this had TV movie all over it....Not feeling Kate Winslet either, same exact role as Little Children.
