‘Like Crazy’ trailer

Posted by · 11:32 am · August 1st, 2011

One film Paramount is high on for the awards season (and is surely a breath of fresh air for the awards team, given its indie sheen) is Drake Doremus’s “Like Crazy.” The film already played Sundance and was a big hit there, so perhaps a slow burn through the season will get it some more attention. The trailer has dropped via Apple, so check it out by clicking the image below or watch an embed after the jump.

Felicity Jones is perfect-looking, her career needs to take off.

Good trailer, pretty emotional, looks like a younger and slightly less-intense version of Blue Valentine (I only say that since it seems they are not married and do not have a kid involved). I will def check this out.

Good for Jennifer Lawrence. It looks like she’s at least made it enough now that she can’t NOT be credited in a trailer.

I love the trailer, with that wispy Elvis cover, but haven’t we seen this movie a million times before?

This looks good…but the sound mix on the trailer is atrocious.

@Mike-M- I agree, there’s definitely a ‘Blue-Valentine’ vibe to it. I was expecting the guy to break out into a song, ukulele sequence mid-way.

But on a very serious note, what is Jennifer Lawrence doing in this film? Is she suppose to be the “other” girl?

I remember being so impressed with Felicity Jones and her small part in Chéri, so I’m thrilled that she’s on the rise now and might potentially get nominated. (A Spirit Award nod is likely, at least. Then again, they’ve had some questionable omissions before….)

This looks like “Blue Valentine” and “Going the Distance” had a baby. A sad, sad baby.
Also, that’s the most fun director name to say since Werner Herzog’s.

The cover is great, but the movie looks tired.

I like Felicity Jones. I think Cemetery Junction is sadly under-seen

It kinda looks sentimental, like too earnest by half. Then again I wasn’t a fan of Blue Valentine outside of Williams and Cianfrance’s direction.

And Lawrence has definitely made it. She has already been a superhero and is heading a blockbuster franchise next.

The Beaver mixed with Blue Valentine? I hated Blue Valentine and Up in the Air; I will likely not like this either.

The movie’s very good. A cross between “(500) Days of Summer” and “Blue Valentine.” Not nearly as precious as the former, or as bleak as the latter — Lawrence’s part is very small.

    @General Butt Fucking Naked:

How was Jones in the film? Do you think she was worthy of that Sundance Best Actress award? What do you think her Oscar chances are?

I don’t like it, at all. Too depressing and sickly romantic. Nothing to do with other, more realistic takes on love (Blue Valentina, 500 days of summer,…). And Im sorry but Mrs Jones doesnt do it for me.

    I love Jennifer Lawrence’s smile :)

    That´s Ingrid Michaelson singing.
Check her out, she has interesting stuff out there.
Feels she comes straight from the 90´s girl power movement.

As for the trailer, I feel like I already saw this movie.
The colors, the close-ups, the curious and intimate shaky camera work…

@Rashad- really? I think the cover is overtaking the dialogue to the point where I can barely make out wtf they are trying to say.

Apparently they’re releasing a different version tomorrow with the audio cleared up. I couldn’t hear a thing.

    Man, I wasn’t expecting that.

This just hit way too close to home. I think I’m probably around the same age as the characters, and same situation by the looks of it.

    :(

This is just my kind of film!
I’m so thrilled since I’ve heard it won so much at Sundance, now with the trailer, it looks just as good as I was expecting it would be.
I hope Felecity Jones will make it far during the awards season!

Gotta agree. It looks like pretentious mush to me.

And pardon my ignorance, who is Felicity Jones, and from what is she so good in that people are fawning?
