COMIC-CON: ‘Haywire’ trailer

Posted by · 4:00 pm · July 24th, 2011

I missed Relativity’s panel featuring Steven Soderbergh’s “Haywire” and the John-Cusack-as-Edgar-Allan-Poe flick “The Raven.” This was very much a bummer, seeing as “Haywire” star Gina Carano has been a personal crush ever since she suited up as, well, Crush, in the rebooted American Gladiators. So the trailer, released via Apple, is the first of the footage I’ve seen. I’m not quite sure why Soderbergh is bathing in the warm water of commercial plays lately (this and “Contagion”), but I’ll give it a look. Nothing is standing out, though. Other than my…crush. Anyway, check out the trailer for “Haywire” by clicking the image below, or watch an embed after the jump.

Looks like a fun time with your lead able to perform her own stunts. Looks like Soderbergh put an attention to action choreography or at least how to shoot it. Hopefully no fast cuts.

Kris, you are not the only one who had a ‘crush.’ She was the reason I tuned in to the AG reboot a few years back.

I thought exactly the same as you, Speaking English. Anyway, this looks like a lot of fun.

The fight sequences in this reminded me of Nolan. And not in a good way.

I thought people stopped doing these kinds of trailers a long time ago, with these ominous “THEY TRAINED HER TO BE THE BEST… BUT THEN THEY BETRAYED HER” trainer-wheels narrations. It feels terribly dated to me, to a very silly degree.

Hopefully the movie will eclipse this trailer. It reminds me of Salt, so it could be alright, I guess.

I love the fact that an great american (and now mature) auteur is using his skills to play with genres. They might not be perfect but I feel he will be pushing some envelopes in this and Contagion. and both have great casts!

I don’t remember the last time a trailer gave me such a hard-on. Gina Carano has got a rockin’ body, pretty face, and looks like she could beat the crap out of me. Where do I sign up to let her dominate me?
