    The educated tend to over analyse, looking for patterns in places patterns don’t exist.

    I don’t think Americans made a conscious decision to turn to a hard-drinking, half-blind US marshall because of tough economic times.

    Could people be flocking to the cinema because True grit is a well-acted western ? call me me crazy.

    Call me crazy but I think Afrika is on to something. I think that article is latest in miriad of articles by Guardian that demonstrates that they simply don’t have a grasp and understanding of the topic they are talking about.

    They cite numbers and “evidence” in a way that’s strictly paints them as outisders peering in. They don’t get it. Not really.

    I can’t remember the last acclaimed, financially successful movie that WASN’T somehow spun as reflective of These Troubled Times ™. Hell, gimme five minutes and I can probably find someone going on about how people liked “Inception” because it reminded them of how hard it is to find work nowadays.
