MPSE last industry organization to nominate

Save for the Academy, of course.  And you can find sound editors’ picks at The Circuit. Just about every possible competitor was chalked up (and it’s the sound effects and foley category that tends to shed the most light).  Check out the breakdown of hopefuls, as always, at the film’s dedicated Contenders page here.

“Black Swan” and “Inception” are officially the most-recognized films of the year when it comes to the guild/society circuit.  Each film was chalked up by every group.

Off topic: I dunno who handles this but i just noted that on the right part of the site Biutiful is listed as a nominee from Spain when its actually from Mexico.

So I’m thinking: Black Swan, Inception, Toy Story 3, Tron Legacy and True Grit. My only hesitation is that I’ve got the same five for Sound Mixing, and that’s probably not going to happen.. Hmm..

Scott Pilgrim would have been a fun nominee with the video-game sound FX.

The overlooked movies for my $ were SPLICE, for creating the voice of its central character Dren; GREEN ZONE, for general action mayhem; and CLASH OF THE TITANS, largely for the Medusa face-off.

    My guess:
    Tron Legacy
    True Grit
    How to Train Your Dragon
