‘How Do you Know’ poster

Ugh, when is this checkered thing going to go away in movie posters?  Can we get someone on the case, find out whether this idea is really all that more impactful (to steal an invented marketing phrase) than something that might actually catch my eye at the theater?  Isn’t the bad poster gambit getting completely out of hand?  Ah well, check out the “How Do You Know” trailer here and the full poster after the jump.

    Is it just me, or does the placing of the names seem wrong at first look?

    The first thing I see is Owen Wilson’s face and the name “Reese Witherspoon”. Weird…

    For a story about a girl choosing between two guys, you think they could do more with it. I do like the color, though. Too much white. But, I guess that’s why the color stands out.

    @Great Dane

    The name placement is weird–reminiscent of the Florida 2000 butterfly ballot.

    Could that font be more overused? It’s practically the new Trajan.
