    Hilarious and oh so true. I’m sorry, but he deserves any crap thrown his way these days, especially after giving us that cluster**** called The Last Airbender.

    Probably one of the funnier things College Humor has done recently.

    And great how that reaction to his name in the “Devil” trailer has been the same in every time.

    I found College Humor’s Inception spoof with Batman to be pretty funny.

    The guy is a great talent and I think he’ll rebound from crap that’s slang at him by people who critisize even those people of his that are good.

    @Maxim

    When exactly was the last time he made a good movie?

    I have to say, I actually like Shyamalan up to, and including, The Village. (I know, I know, everyone hates The Village, but I think if you ignore the fact that it was marketed as a “monster movie with a twist” and just watch it as a very personal romance, it’s actually a very good movie, IMHO.)

    But after The Village, his output has been SO AWFUL that… well, I honestly don’t even know how to characterize the awfulness.

    I want to believe that deep down there really is a good director in there who’s just in a slump, but after I saw a preview for “Devil”, I really found myself thinking that someone ought to take him out back and very gently put him to rest.

    I mean, how many actors and producers and cinematographers and editors and whatever-else-ers does he have to embarrass by attaching their names to his sucky movies before people stop letting him direct? When does it end?

    The only person who seems to have some kind of a grasp on reality is James Newton Howard, who has clearly discovered that writing really good scores for really terrible movies makes his music look even better than it does in good movies.

    I didn’t hate The Village. I think the acting of the younger leads – Howard, Phoenix, Brody – was awful, but it was technically well-done, extremely suspenseful, and Hurt, Weaver and Celia Weston were excellent. And I enjoyed the “twist” better than Signs and Unbreakable.

    Since then, yes, dreck. But no worse than Tim Burton who made one of the worst movies this year, and is likely to get multiple Oscar nominations for it.
