‘The Company Men’ trailer

The debut feature of director John Wells (best known for his TV work on such series as “ER” and “The West Wing”) garnered fairly reserved reviews at Sundance in January. The trailer, which hit yesterday via Yahoo! Movies, does play a little on the beige side, but the story is topical, the cast excellent (always nice to see Rosemarie DeWitt getting work) and The Weinstein Company is putting it out in the prime real estate of late October. Maybe there’s something here. Maybe not. Judge for yourself by by clicking the link below, or watch the embed on the jump.

Director of Photography: Roger Deakins, that is the best thing about this.

I’m sorry to say that this one seems as if it hasn’t left a cliche unused. Not interested.

I’m hellbent on seeing Rosemarie DeWitt get an Oscar nomination after her egregiously unjust robbery for Rachel Getting Married, so I hope she finds a meatier role than this really soon.

I think that at most, a supporting nom for Chris Cooper is highly possible, as I think he’s been worthy of a second nod for quite some time, and he could take the “previous nominee/winner” slot in Supporting Actor.

This movie’s trailer suffers by comparison to “The Town.” Pass on this one, but bring on “The Town.”

This non-trailer was a little more effective for me: http://www.traileraddict.com/trailer/the-company-men/trailer
