‘Inception’ TV spots

Something else I happened across while playing web catch-up this morning.  You’ve probably seen them on the tube plenty of times by now, but since it’s a hotly anticipated summer title, I thought I’d offer them up for commentary here.  Two more after the jump.

I’ve got a really good feeling about this film. Christopher Nolan hasn’t made a bad film yet, and the marketing campaign is both elusive, and irresistable. I may be alone at the midnight showing, but I will be there.

I`ll be there too. This is going to be the movie of the summer and hopefully of the year too.

We may finally have a science fiction film win Best Picture. Wait, does Chris Nolan have an ex-wife?

Hmm that bird’s eye view shot at the beginning of the second clip was new to me. Where did that come from? It wasn’t in the third trailer.

Hopefully this film will be the reason why I go to the movies. This is the time of year where Hollywood accelerates, the time they love the most bringing in the bucks, as well as the general movie going audience.

Its true, that perhaps there is nothing more satisfying than a summer blockbuster filled with imagination and breaking boundaries of what we thought was entertainment. Sadly though in my opinion, that rarely happens, but hopefully with this we have an original story, with characters we can become invested in, making those blockbuster moments, all the more satisfying.

Easily my most anticipated of the summer, and probably year.

I am really looking forward to this movie, I’m a big Nolan fan and this right up at the top of my scale of imagination and originality with a little mind-bending weirdness thrown in. I loved Dark City, for instance, had to recently buy the Blu-Ray.

What makes this film so anticipated is that I don’t know where Nolan will go with this film’s ending.

Only film I will see at the theater this summer.

And then I’ll come home and wait for the Nolan-led Batman 3 embargo to crumble .

My one complaint about the marketing is that they are pushing and overusing that shot of the city folding way too much. I know that there are other shots they use over and over again, but that one sticks in your head, so when I see it in theaters, it’ll be one of those annoying “Yep, that’s from the trailer” moments.

I wasn’t the biggest fan of THE DARK KNIGHT, as Kris well knows (though I did love BATMAN BEGINS). Even so, I do consider myself a Nolan fan, and am very much looking forward to this film. The sheer number of arresting images here (and this can’t be all of them, unlike in most films’ trailers) has me convinced we will, indeed, see our first Best Picture nominee of the year come INCEPTION’s release date.

I just watched Batman Begins again. It’s still a good movie, but there are plenty of narrative pitfalls I was too blind to see before. Of course those were probably orchestrated by David Goyer, and not Chris Nolan.

    July 16th can’t come soon enough…

I absolutely loved ‘The Dark Knight’, and it was robbed of a Best Picture nom, and even more so, Nolan was robbed for Best Director. But I think ‘Inception’ will finally make up for that.
