Regular readers will know that Claire Denis’s “White Material” topped my list of last year’s best films, and would have placed high in my end-of-decade list were it not officially a 2010 release. If you’ve been wondering what I’m on about, there’s finally a trailer I can show you — subtitle-free, I’m afraid, but you’ll get the idea. It opens in France next month; the rest of the world could take a while.

So…am I naive in asking if this has an American distributor?

I would imagine a Claire Denis film will eventually find it’s way to these shores. I am looking forward to it.

Interesting… I’ll have to be alert for this one! :o)
Hmmm… I can’t remember the last time I saw Christophe Lambert actually playing in French!

Chase K: Not yet, as far as I’m aware. But if The Cinema Guild sprung for “35 Shots of Rum,” they’d be wise to go for this one — in some ways, it’s the more accessible (though much colder) film. Plus, you know, Huppert.
UK readers, we’re in the safe hands of Artificial Eye.
