“When it hits the muggles, it can at last be taken seriously.”

Tip of the hat to Sasha Stone for spotting the new cover of Entertainment Weekly, which I’d say helps shove Sandra Bullock a little bit closer to that revolving-door fifth Best Actress slot:

Sandra Bullock on the cover of Entertainment Weekly

Yeah, nevermind the fact that all three of the movies she was in this year all sucked.

She may be having the last laugh, come nomination time. Never underestimate Sandra Bullock, sure she’s been in some awful films. But she can surprise you from time to time.

Watch her win, it could totally happen. The only big star in the race is Meryl, and Sandra can easily eclipse Gabby or that girl in An Education…campaign-wise.

A reference to the common man, Chad. EW reaches a lot of people.

    “that girl in An Education”

There’s a reduction if I ever heard one. Is that what one of the biggest star-making turns of the year is deserving of? Shame on you.

“that girl in An Education” ?
    “that girl in An Education”?

Ok, I love Sandra and I am happy for her sucess, since actress once they hit 40’s are put aside in Hollywood, BUT “that girl in An Education” GAVE A FREAKING GREAT performance and I would love people to at least write her name. ITS CAREY MULLIGAN.

No Carey wont win the Oscar, but at least write her name, because she is ten times a better actress than half of the twats working in Hollywood right now.

Chill out, people. Not everyone working in Hollywood obsesses on the particulars. These people work for a living and frankly catch up with this kind of stuff this time of year.

I am happy for Sandra Bullock, but she better not takes away the nom for some other deserving actress!

Amazing box office, but amazingly mediocre reviews – the only Best Actress noms this decade for films in the yellow zone on MC are for women who already racked up multiple noms beforehand.

That said, I only mind her likeliness because it seems likely that Cornish would be boxed out. And that would be travesty-ish. I would find it delightful if she boxed out Mirren or Mulligan instead. Unlikely, but whatever. Cornish=awesome.
