Fascinating look at voicing ‘Fantastic Mr. Fox’

Yahoo! Movies has an awesome exclusive look today behind the scenes of Wes Anderson’s “Fantastic Mr. Fox” and the unusual process by which he and his team of actors recorded voices for the film.  Check it out:

    Looking at something like this, it seems obvious that Anderson did direct this flick. It seems like he had the actors act the entire thing out with each other on locations. I get he didn’t do the animating, but director’s don’t necessarily hold the cameras either. Bottom line: the guy deserves credit for the film as director. That DP was way out of line.

    This is such a great way to record the performances of the actors! I don’t imagine they can convey any of the same energy or characterization while locked in sound-proof booths not even able to face each other.
    ON the other hand, Clooney rolling around on the ground may not be the perfect sound effect to match a fox not quite his size!
