Briefly, on ‘Pirate Radio’

I don’t know why, but this “Pirate Radio” trailer (which has been around a while) is really doing it for me.  I saw it yesterday before a screening of “Zombieland.” And how long before Philip Seymour Hoffman completes his trilogy of rock types?  He knocked Lester Bangs out of the park in “Almost Famous” and his character The Count here is inspired by Radio One’s Emperor Rosko.  Come on.  Just one more.

I still believe it’s a great and hugely entertaining film.

I saw this over the summer… not much plot in there, but some crazy and loveable characters (brought to life by some excellent actors) and one hell of a magnificent soundtrack! :)

I would have liked it more if it was a sitcom, since it was basically 6-7 independent episodes, without much correlation between them, loosely tied together in a feature film. But I wouldn’t have liked it much more, since it was pretty bland and uninspired anyway.

I loved his cameo in Invention of Lying. Is that a spoiler alert for those who haven’t seen it? I don’t feel like it is. Anyways great cameo.
