Here’s to hoping Vinny Chase lands the lead in the Ramones biopic…

Oh, by the way Kris, saw A Serious Man last night at a screening here in Chicago, and it’s sticking with me today. Not sure I’m with you as far as potential Best of the Decade (or top 10, rather) as you said somewhere, but I have a hard time believing it won’t end up in my top five.

For lack of desire to Google search, you don’t remember the quote at the beginning of the movie, do you? Michael Stuhlbarg, who had a Q+A with Michael Phillips after the film, hinted that much of what he derived from the movie came from that quote. I talked with a friend after, a scientist, and he saw a connection between the Uncertainty Principle, dealt with in the movie, and the quote … but neither of us could remember it specifically.

*my top five of the year, I should have said at the end of that first paragraph. A really good movie, folks.

Ramones biopic? That’d be cool. I’d be more interested in seeing a Clash biopic, though. As long as they don’t make one for the Sex Pistols… we’ve already got Sid & Nancy.

The Phildadelphia Film Festival schedule finally got posted today as well (http://www.pff09.org). Looks like a solid recap of festivals past with Antichrist, Fish Tank, Men Who Stare at Goats, and Precious as the closing film, among others. As a Philly resident I’m looking forward to going.
