I can see people complaining about the stereotypes and potty humor, but pretty much every disney animated movie has it, but I love the trailer. The animation looks gorgeous. Can’t wait.

Hmm, this is one of my T3 most anticipated of the year, but I really am not sure what level of quality to expect. The Disney renaissance that started 2 decades ago and ended one decade ago has many of my favorite movies, but I wonder how likely it is to recapture that again. I don’t really like the idea of a Disney princess movie not having her be human for most of the movie.

Relatedly, Kris, did you hear any buzz at Telluride about Waking Sleeping Beauty? Some site called had this to say:

“I fell in love it. I don’t mean I just liked it a lot, I completely and thoroughly fell in love with it. I have never felt this emotional towards a documentary or another film this entire year. It’s a fascinating story that’s both amusing and inspiring to watch.”

That makes two documentaries I’m interested in this year, along with The September Issue. Which makes it two more than more or less every other year.

Looks great! Nice to finally hear some of the music. Anika Noni Rose was my favorite Dreamgirl, so I was excited to learn she was providing voice talent here.

I think the movie will be great and am really looking forward to it. The animation looks spectacular. I’m just bracing myself for the inevitable backlash that always seems to accompany Disney movies.
