I think he borrowed Samuel L. Jackson’s hat.

I watched this last night. I honestly cannot stand Tarantino anymore. I haven’t lost respect of the filmmaker, but of the man.

And what’s with the ‘peace’ symbol after each segment? What a douche.

Remember the SNL skit in which Norm McDonald plays Quentin Tarantino? And Samuel L. Jackson plays himself. McDonald, as Q.T., talks about casting Pulp Fiction…can’t find the video anywhere! Help!

Okay, I think I’m going to watch Inglourious Basterds again. Based on my conversations with others who liked the movie, I might enjoy it more if I try to see what they saw in it (the changes in tone, film references, shuffling of multiple characters). Maybe it just isn’t for me, but I hope it will improve upon subsequent viewings.

P.S. I have no idea what you’re talking about, El Rocho. QT seems to be interesting and a lot of fun based on this interview.

I’m sure it is just me, Robert. Every time I see him it’s like nails on a chalkboard for me.

He would be fun, I’m sure, with a fully loaded bong and a bottle of wine. But otherwise, probably not.

I thought he came across as very interesting, intelligent and unpretentious. In fact, I almost made a comment a couple days ago after seeing Tarantino on Charlie Rose, I believe it was Monday. That was an excellent interview for the full uninterrupted hour where he discusses his choices, vision, casting, beliefs and many other very interesting things in detail. An absolute great interview, as Charlie always does, and a must watch for “Inglorious Basterds”and Tarantino fans alike, but equally entertaining for detractors of each as well. Enjoy.

What a strange guy. Regardless, he’d be interesting to have a conversation with.

I feel that Inglourious Basterds is a movie I will enjoy more when I see it again. As of right now I’d give it 3 out of 4 stars.

It’s not just you, El Rocho. Though I admire his filmmaking prowess, the man is just annoying and very douche-y in person. The peace symbol annoyed me, his staged “I’m gonna scalp me some Conan” joke was badly done, and his constant interruptions during the next guest’s bit was obnoxious. Love the new movie, but not the man.

His recent Charlie Rose interview is one of the better, more illuminating interviews I’ve seen in awhile, and thouroghly demonstrates Tarantino’s complete understanding of the medium. You could tell on this Conan interview that he was trying way too hard to have the funny anecdotes guests need to have. He was playing the part of talk show guest, but on Charlie Rose he was full on Tarantino movie geek mode.
