First look at Mickey Rourke in ‘Iron Man 2’

Courtesy of USA Today, Screen Rant and Jon Favreau’s Twitter page, we get our first peek at Mickey Rourke as Whiplash in “Iron Man 2.”  Quite low-tech, which is interesting.  Thoughts?

I doubt he’s like that through out the film, but yeah, he’s a badass.

I hate comic book movies, except for two.

Rourke looks like he’s having a blast. He doesn’t give a fuck. Go Mickey.

Rourke back on the A-list, as it should be.

“Low-tech” would be one way to put it I guess, though I’m presuming they’ll be adding CGI.

Hmm… I don’t see the appeal. He looks like a cyborg who has just been abandoned by his parents.

Heh indeed it looks like so many other things but a comic book film.
Love to see him in a big film again though. I can’t wait to get The Wrestler on dvd and see it so many times over.

I get the feeling that Rourke’s character will do something much like Tony Stark did in the first movie…the pic we see here is the “prototype” (like Stark’s first suit), and we’ll see a slicker, cooler, more powerful version later in the movie. Or maybe not. Who knows. All I know is that I’m excited!

…not that much exciting, at first sight, but then again, even first pictures from The Wrestler weren’t that promising. Anyway, eternal gratitude to “Sin City” and to Darren Aronofsky for putting back Mickey on the A-list map!
