Biiiiitchhhh, pleeeeeezzzee…

Michaela Watkins has definitely been my least favorite cast member on “Saturday Night Live” as of late. A combination of “she’s kinda creepy” and an honest-to-God lack of any exciting comedic spark.

But then this “Bitch Pleeze” riff on film blogging and online film criticism had me laughing pretty damn hard:

She may not be the most exciting cast member, but I’ll give her time. SNL does not traditionally know what to do with its female cast members. In time, they usually figure it out. Not everyone can be Amy Poehler or Kristen Wiig.

(In my very humble opinion, SNL will never again have as good a female line-up as it did in the mid-to-late 90’s. Molly Shannon, Cheri Oteri, and Ana Gasteyer shined, before passing the baton to Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Rachel Dratch, and Tina Fey.)

Kristen Wiig is just about the only thing keeping me watching these days. The writing has gone to utter shit. And, in response to your mumblings about Michaela Watkins, I will put forth that Kenan Thompson is the least funny person SNL has ever employed ever. Ever. He can only do ONE thing, and he can’t even make it funny. Good God. And the worst part is that HE thinks he’s SO funny. It drives me absolutely batshit!

Anyway, my rant is over. Seacrest out.

Wiig is the best member, I wish they still had Chris Parnell and I love Hader…

I did really find the Biiiiitch Please part of Weekend Update great though.

That was the ONLY funny bit from the entire episode. The rest was borderline painful.

But maybe it was just my burning hatred of Zac Efron muddying my capacity to make a fair judgment.

By the way, I think that Will Forte and Jason Sudeikis have to go. They are horrendously awkward in everything they do, and their “Jon Bovi” bit during Weekend Update was just pathetic.

Wiig is definitely the current standout in the cast, but not even she could that Gilley (sp?) skit–painfully unfunny.

I kind of liked this weekend’s SNL… I thought it had some funny moments… and I like the Gilley character. I agree with the Kenan thing though. He is so awful. he acts out every character exactly the same way… just completely over the top and … terrible.

I’ve seen this “Bitch Please” thing a couple times and both times were pretty great. The Kathy Lee Gifford thing with her wasn’t great though.

Kenan is terrible, but just as terrible is Casey. She has been on the show now for what… at least two full seasons? She hansn’t been funny ONCE. The only “voice” she can do is dropping her voice way down low and talking like a drag queen (see the “Cougar” sketch.

Michaela is fantastic. She marched on to the show with full formed impressions ready to go with”Arianna Huffington” and nailed it. From then on she has shined in pretty much every thing she has been apart of with her Hota role in the “Today Show” sketch and “Biiiiiiitch Plleeeeease” standing out amongst them.

Hader and Wiig are too fucking good for SNL, they already are hilarious in everything. Time for Apatow to give these two their big breaks I think.

Frankly, Sudeikis is my favorite cast member. What can I say. He cracks me up. In fact, I pretty much like this entire cast (even Keenan — Jesus, lots of snobs in here), which is the first time since maybe the early 90s. I hated the Fey/Fallon days, wasn’t a fan of Dratch at all and kind of loathed the late 90s in general.

Also, Casey is great. She just doesn’t have a major skit under her belt yet. Next to Wiig, she’s probably my favorite female cast member. Didn’t realize having “voices” makes or breaks you on SNL.

“Michaela is fantastic. She marched on to the show with full formed impressions ready to go with”Arianna Huffington” and nailed it.”

    Um…no.

My bet is it’s her idea, so the blame probably lies on her completely. It reeks of her brand of humor.
