Great point

This would’ve been a great opportunity: If Nicholson were a supporting-actor presenter and spoke about Heath Ledger’s performance as the Joker.

Longtime Oscar hound Wayman Wong to Tom O’Neil in O’Neil’s recent Gold Derby blog entry on the conspicuous absence of Jack Nicholson from Sunday’s Oscar telecast.

Still might not have happened if Nicholson were there. I mean they had Anthony Hopkins onstage presenting best actor, yet for some reason they didn’t have him talk up Langella.

I had the same thought about Michael Caine, oddly enough.

I thought about both Jack Nicholson and Michael Caine talking about Heath’s Joker when the award was being presented. Michael Caine especially, since he praised his performance all over the place when the movie came out.

I’ve been noting Nicholson’s absence since the night of the awards. He’s always there!

Interesting indeed. Maybe a little awkward, for the touchy people, but still interesting.
