this in without question an act, you can clearily see that he was on the burst of laughing a lot of times and you can notice he acts normal at the very end when he takes of his glasses. this is just another proof of what an amazing actor he is

It can’t be an act. I remember his acting in Walk the Line.

This was hilarious. David Letterman is the King of Late Night talk shows.

I WANT THE WORLD TO STOP PICKING ON JOAQUIN PHOENIX. Hoax or not, he is one of the greatest actors of his generation and he’s done a tremendous amount of amazing work behind the camera as well — he’s a major animal rights activist and clearly has a very kind soul. LEAVE JOAQUIN ALONE!

I don’t know. I heard that the rap thing was a stunt and inside joke between him and Casey Affleck, but this interview makes me wonder if the guy is really aware of what’s real and what’s not. I mean, he’s always been sort of an odd dude, but this is borderline scary. Like, half the time he look high, the other half he looks like he plotting to kill Letterman or something. Letterman looked pretty frustrated and pissed during the whole clip setup/gum chewing thing, and it looked legit to me. Joaquin is quickly becoming one of my least favorite people. I also love it how Joaquin Phoenix can pull crap like this and everyone rushes to his defense and puts him on a pedastal. But when Christian Bale loses his cool just once on set. Well then everyone loses their minds!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF people? Phoenix is special but Christian Bale isn’t? Makes a lot of sense.

Why do guys trying to pull a stunt or act always come on Letterman? He will inevitably come out on top. I remember something similar happening to Crispin Glover ages ago on the Late Show.

Should pick Leno the pushover. Can you imagine how Jay would cope with an interviewee like this? HA! Now that would be hilarious.

judging by Joaquin’s appearance on the Letterman show, he might be going through an identity crisis
