“The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.” No 2008 film was more jaw-droppingly beautiful in its visual splendor. Worlds bathed in deep golds and silhouettes highlighted by pristine sunsets, darkly somber rooms capitalized by their cool melancholic hues, indelible imagery that leaps off the screen in its remarkable depth and clarity. Simply the best.

If Slumdog Millionaire deserves at least two oscars it deserves them for editing and cinematography. These are what I think the shoo-in categories of the year.

Who were the 2 people who voted for Changeling? Clint Eastwood and Tom Stern. That movie shouldn’t be up for anything except a Razzie for Angelina “I want MY son back!” Jolie.

Having trouble with your home page Kris…the articles aren’t coming up…sure I’m not alone…the only thing that comes on the screen are the banner adds on top and the left side bar…you have to click on the the “Daily” under the feature section…this problem started yesterday…just a heads up…though you should know…

Well the one that deserves it isn’t even nominated (The Fall). Oh well.

TDK or Ben Button should win this but they won’t. Slumdog will win.

The Dark Knight was by far the most spectacularly shot film of the year and Wally Pfister’s best work yet. If there is one technical category that this film deserves, it’s this one.

Gotta be Pfister. If only TDK had the benefit of being a Best Picture nominee.

Of the 5 nominated (absolutely NOT my Top 5), my rank would be …

    TCCoBB
    TDK
    Slumdog
    The Reader
    Changeling

Speaking of ‘The Reader’, thanks to Weinstein’s diligent campaign, anyone think Deakins may finally win this award?

John: I think (and hope) not. It’d be a terrible shame if Deakins were to finally win for a film that, for the most part, he didn’t actually shoot.

Dark Knight, no question. Every shot was absolutely perfect.
