Seth Rogan is a void of anything funny.

I agree. It’s really not that funny to say fuck every 5 seconds. It gets old.

How does it feel to be dead inside, guys?

I still view this as ultimately a disappointment, but as the year has winded down, the positives about it continue to stay with me more than most films I saw.

Because we dislike a really boring, and yet hyped to death writer/comedic actor?

    Nah.

I agree… Seth Rogan has yet to impress me. I’ll give this one a shot though since James Franco is in it. And if I’m happily surprised by Seth Rogan, wonderful.

Forgive me, I misspelled his name… Seth Rogen. :)

Best comedy of the year, in my opinion — I know this seems like an anti-American opinion, but James Franco is funnier here than in Downey in Tropic Thunder.

    Bought the Blu-ray this morning.

I absolutely loved it. I think I said so before.

(PS: 10 responses to an article without anyone calling TDK superior to the film discussed. Must be a new record.)

As hard as I try, I really don’t see how this is funnier than Tropic Thunder. It’s fine to think otherwise, but at least there are people out there who agree with me.

Maybe because it gets laughs from honest behavior and situations and not from stale Hollywood satire.

Bought this today. The scene where James Franco is watching “The Jeffersons” is priceless.

Anyone agree that he will take Best Actor/Comedy Musical at the Globes?

    TDK was better said...

    The Dark Knight was better…

I agree with Franco taking the Globe. And Rogen still isn’t funny. He needs to branch out to a different type of low-quality loser – perhaps one who doesn’t hit the pipe. Maybe I’ll like him better then. That or I’ll long for the days when all he played was a toked-up hophead.

But come on, “The Dark Knight” is such a better film.

    “Go get it”

The last time I did what a blog/website suggested I had to seek medical help for a condition that lasted longer than 4 hours.

At least “Pineapple Express” isn’t 4 hours long. Worth renting at least.

    And “The Dark Knight” rules.

You see Franco on the DVD cover there with the hair? Okay, now imagine him with “Joker” make-up.

    Take note, Nolan.

I watched the commentary today because of I had nothing better to do — a little dissapointing. It’s a revolving door and way too crowded: Rogen, Apataw, Green, Franco, Perez, McBride, Producer, technician, caterer, etc. etc.

Amusing, but I hate it when commentaries get away from the film for 5+ minutes…

I’m kind of partial to Rogen, but I can see why he’d annoy some people. Still, I find him innately funny — and sort of cute, for what it’s worth.

P.S. Perez and Cole were great in this film. Fact! Unrelated to whatever you may think of the rest of it.

Funny trailer. The film: overlong, unfunny, unnecessarily .violent. It’s only redeemable feature was James Franco”s performance.

Seth Rogen >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Sandler>Farrell (both are crap), imo the best actor in comedies right now.

Gittes: Michael C. Hall is an infinitely better choice. But Franco is a nice second.

Danny McBride was the real treat here. I’ll wait till it’s 7.50 at Wal-Mart. Not worth 16 bucks.

A hilarious film. Everything is sublime in this picture. Tied with Tropic Thunder as the funniest film of the year. Watched it from start to finish last night and just laughed my ass off. It’s probably the best stoner movie ever made.
