WB scores available at awards site

In the wake of the James Newton Howard and Hans Zimmer’s disqualification no less.  But fuck it, it’s a fantastic piece of work and you can listen to the whole damn thing at the Warner Bros. awards site, so rise up and feel the righteousness.

The ‘Gran Torino’ score has been tossed up as well, an expectedly low-key composition by Kyle Eastwood and Michael Stevens.

There is a moment right at the end of “I’m Not a Hero” that makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up every time. It’s right when the theme suddenly slams in. It was used in the movie when Batman is pulled from the Hong Kong skyscraper with the money man in tow. Fucking AWESOME.

I think that Goldenthal news is a few months old, no?

Goldenthal news is old, but it’s all I can think about right now. I want that trailer soon.

I love it in Knight where the music slam in near the end when Batman is limping away from Gordon and enters the ship yard full of containers.

Off topic: McG on Jonah Nolan: “He’s literate, intelligent, difficult — an elegant opposition.”

So for Bale, is it like transfering from Harvard to, I don’t know, Chico State? Washington State? A community college?

It’s painful hearing Eastwood sing on the “Gran Torino” track. After Flags of our Fathers, I thought I would be spared from ever hearing him sing again.
