It works perfectly in that context.

Funny how people are quick to criticize President Bush about this plan, but it’s the Democrat-controlled Congress that is agreeing to go with it. It’s mostly Republicans that are opposed, or at least tepid, about doing a bail-out. Most Democrats seem rather gung-ho. But I suppose most Democrat voters will easily forget that part.

The clip is very well done, by the way. We (all people that is, not just me and you or you and them or anything like that) may diagree politically, but at least we have film and the arts that can act as a haven of sorts.

Excellent clip. Whoever put that together did a great job integrating W. clips into the movie.

The Republicans are the ones who want to ramrod the bill through quickly while the Democrats want to make sure that it is being done properly.

ehh. it was ok. I really can’t stand the fact that politics are more about politics than actually running a country any more. we badly need someone to come in and wipe the slate clean. both parties should be destructed. the two party system “dual-monarchy” really is ruining our country. there are maybe 5 politicians in our country that i have faith in… tops. none of them are likely to gain any prominence in the election, or any time soon. we might be fucked

Both parties are actually trying to get this done quickly – probably by the beginning of next week. I’m sure taking a day or two to add more money to the bail-out is the Democrats way making sure it’s getting done properly.

And this is in most stories about the bail-out plan: “…there was still resistance from House Republicans…”

“’We’re very confident that we can act expeditiously,’ said Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn., the Banking Committee chairman.

“Not everyone in the closed-door talks was as optimistic. Rep. Spencer Bachus of Alabama, the only House Republican in the bargaining meeting, stopped short of saying he agreed with the other lawmakers on an imminent deal.”

Sounds like it’s the other way around Zac.

This whole thing is a bad idea…

There are som many other area where this kind of money can be used, and with more assured results.

Well made clip, but I’m not sure the clip actually says anything. What does it do but put Bush’s speech in the box and change the context? Did I miss a the point?
