‘Pineapple’ happy

I want to properly review “Pineapple Express,” which I saw this evening at a packed and boisterous screening at the Mann Chinese Theater. But I can’t get to it just yet.  Suffice it to say it’s a gem of comedic and absurdist perfection, yet thriving inside a strikingly odd sort of reality (seriously).  I also don’t believe any director other than David Green could have elevated the material to this unexpected level.  What a strangely comfortable fit!

The best movie of the year? Definitely.

More tomorrow.

    Ugh. So excited.

Kris, did you see “Snow Angels” yet? Talk about a director having one hell of a year.

Oh my, but the movie is getting mixed reviews. ‘Best of the year’ is very odd call to say the least.

Even over “The Dark Knight”? Wow, that’s saying something. It makes it worth a look, doesn’t it?

YEAH, GO KRIS for thinking outside the box! Unfortunately, I’ll have to wait three weeks until I see this.

I’m sorry, Kris. I saw it last night and wasn’t impressed. It was a B- movie at best. After the first thirty minutes before the “shooting” everything goes down hill.

Wow, I thought I was the only one who loved it this much… Not sure if it’s the “best” of the year, but it’s definitely my favorite movie of 2008 so far.
