So I guess that’s ‘Body’ not ‘House’

The new trailer for “Body of Lies” has dropped, and it seems they’ve stuck with the original David Ignatius title rather than the switch to “House of Lies.” It looks like a nice mix of Ridley Scott’s work and his brother’s brand of cinema as well. Russell Crowe looks to have a solid role.

I’ve had this script for months now but have never found the time to give it a read. Soon, I guess.

Have a look (kudos to Awards Daily):

And in Quicktime here.

Looks like good, solid, unpretentious entertainment. I’m striking it from my Oscar radar. (I’d say maybe something for Crowe, but frankly he could do this generation’s “Raging Bull” and the Academy wouldn’t care.)

I still think it’s good for those sound categories. Perhaps Crowe. Perhaps still screenplay, because I’m sure they were going to play up the entertainment value in the trailer. I’ve never read the book, but there could be some depth here.

Crowe surprises me yet again. Looks like a fun film, and actors having fun could lead to something big for them. Not the film, which I am pretty excited about anyhow.

Was it just me or was anyone esle confused by the trailer? What exactly is going on? Very dissapointing; however, Crowe looks to have a great role playing with an accent that seems to mix Inisder and 3:10 to Yuma

Dull trailer. Boring. Leo is miscast. I can’t believe McG was able to put together a better teaser for Terminator than Ridley. The depth you’re talking about Kris is not even alluded to in the trailer, just Leo saying, “I can’t do this anymore!”

And what was that “chatter” at the end of the BOL trailer? Huh? Looks like Carice van Houten got cut…maybe…

    looks entertaining as hell!

I’m definetly watching it, especially since I’ll probably be in the U.S. when it opens! (yaaay!)

It looks like they’re playing up Ed Hoffman (Crowe’s character) and I didn’t see any footage of Ferris (Leo’s character) talking to Jordanian authorities, which is kind of a bummer. Although, I also didn’t see any of the love story side plot, which is good.

I think it will be a solid Ridley Scott flick. Probably along the lines of “American Gangster” as far as awards goes.

Has anybody else noticed that Leo DiCaprio seems to love roles in which he can talk on the phone? It’s his favourite on screen partner.
