Kind of, Kris. The difference is that Brian Kinsley reads a script and discusses it. Apparently Cinematical just reads a book that’s about to be turned into a movie and wonders if the book can translate successfully, no?

Well — the point is that is exactly whatI used to do. Reading and commenting on the source material. Starting way back in 2002, and bringing it back for a spell in 2006. Before revamping the feature as a screenplay review column.

But hey — it’s a great idea, and I’m glad others are doing it.

Commenting on the source material and the screenplay adaptation would make Cinematical’s Page to Screen feature much better.

I’ve read Monahan’s first draft for Body Of Lies ( Apparently it’s no longer House of Lies per IMDB?)
and it’s fantastic. I find it curious that Crowe brought in Steve Zallian to re-work his character.

It’s interesting that the two ” Departed Boys” are trying their hand at Iraq and America’s war on terrorism. Damon has Green Zone coming out and Leo’s got Lies. Can’t wait to see what they come up with, and I wonder if critics and audiences will respond favorably.
