Oh, and FYI…

I swear I’m done with Batman talk after this, but I know there’s an insider screening of “The Dark Knight” happening tonight on the Warner lot. If any sort of “review” pops up somewhere, it’s going to be from someone who gets checks signed by studio brass. That said, I’m anticipating a report from a trustworthy acquaintance and my fingers are SO crossed.

Oh my, this sure gonna be an exciting time. In the meanwhile I’m finally gonna see Funny Games US tomorrow and tomorrow night I’ll see the Hulk too.

Yeah, I’m excited. If you can link us to the review. Or just tell us what this acquaintance said.

One more thing, that new trailer is playing like crazy here in the Netherlands and the crowds are loving it. It’s just such an amzazing trailer, and the ending with the Dark Knight title and the rising music is just bone chilling.

Hearing the same thing over and over again: amazing, Ledger is terrifying, beautifully rendered world, etc. The only remotely negative notions that have poked through here and there are about Maggie Gyllenhaal, a case, it seems, of the character yet again being the weak link.

Katie Holmes was just fine in Batman Begins; especially given the material she had to work from.

Aside from maybe Cate Blanchett, it’s not like another actress could have done better.

As for Maggie Gyllenhaal being the weak link, well, if that’s the only weak link than looks like Nolan has delivered a gem.
