After the disaster that was “Elizabethtown” — a script that was so much stronger than what wound up on screen — Cameron Crowe is finally coming back with a Ben Stiller-Reese Witherspoon adventure comedy for Sony.
Even after “Elizabethtown,” Crowe is still a filmmaker who I will be first in line opening day for. 2009 just got a whole lot more exciting for me.

I agree with you on Cameron Crowe. He’s one of the few filmmakers whose movies are 1st day must-sees.
I like Elizabethtown in spite of it’s major flaws. Hopefully, this movie gets him back on the right track.

I saw the longer version of Elizabethtown at the Toronto Film Festival and though I did not care for it I find it impossible to turn off should I find it playing on television. The music in his films is an event on its own.

Having seen both cuts, was there a big difference in quality between either of them, and if so, which was better?

Cameron Crowe is one of the most interesting filmmakers around. I’ll join you opening weekend for this one.

I thought “Elizabethtown” was brilliant.
Thinking about what I just said, I just want you all to know that I don’t love everything. It just happens that movies are mentioned that I love. Clearing that up.
Thought that “Elizabethtown” was the most underrated movie of 2005. It was a small gem.
